The MOD-PN PROFINET module allows a PROFINET communication with a Metro M400 Display. The M400 is an industrial display used in precision dimensional measurement based on inductive probes, air gages, linear or rotary encoders, scales etc. It allows to program multi-characteristics dimensional controls based on the part´s tolerances, to perform SPC analysis and transfer the measurement data to a server while measruing the parts and communicating with a PROFINET PLC. The communication with a PLC is generally used to sort the parts or perform actions depending on the part dimensions, like a direct connection of the milling or turning machines. The M400 is a very user-friendly device but also a rugged product designed to operate in harsh industrial environment.
